Rubén Vázquez Amos (A.K.A. bladebae) was born in Huelva, a small city off the breezy southern Atlantic coast of Spain, to a Spanish father and British mother. He has been living in London since 2013 and is a musical artist, guitarist and producer.

His 2019 single Abel Fragüe is an imagistic reflection on the melancholy of this "voluntary estrangement", which in many ways was in keeping with the pattern of mass youth exodus from Spain since 2008. Post-construction bubble decay is also a prominent theme of his debut visual EP Whiskey Por Favó (2017), where he can be seen walking through entire blocks of dilapidated unfinished houses in his hometown, Aracena. The 2020 EP Hashtagblessed marries themes of the sacred and the profane, freedom and bondage, anger and apathy, online and IRL, through lyricisms that are both cryptic and acidic. 2022's grungey single "Spin" is his first collaboration with his brother, Tomás Vázquez Amos.
